THE DIVINITY RULE · THE THIRTEEN · RULE 4 OF 13
Containment.
Branch 3 · The Silver Ratio
Rule 4 of the thirteen: Branch 3 · The Silver Ratio. It is one of the eleven principles taught openly — in a published volume on the Library shelf, and in one AI skill card that works it on your own work.

THE SILVER RECTANGLE · AND PAPER THAT KEEPS ITS SHAPE WHEN HALVED
The silver ratio is 1 + √2 = 2.414. Take two squares from a silver rectangle and the piece left is a silver rectangle again. Paper cut at 1 : √2 does the same thing when folded: every half has the shape of the whole.
The classical idea this branch is named for, to try by hand. The Rule’s own use of it is in the published volume, and in the seat.
Where it meets your work
Wherever proportion decides the work — a brand, a product, a structure, a community — the card reads its text and works Containment on what you are making, one step at a time, and shows the measure on the work itself.
What is in the card
- SKILL.md — the door your AI reads first
- book/ — the volume itself, placed before the card sells
- CARD.md, START-HERE.md, LICENSE-NOTE.md and MY-LEDGER.md
- card.json and card.svg — its record and its face
Its text goes inside before the card is sold.

The rules before and after
The shelf is not the seat.
Reading a principle is not holding the Rule. The Divinity Rule is licensed only as THE SEAT, to one person; its practice rides only on the seat. Two principles are held for AI alone and sealed inside the seat, named nowhere.
