What it is.
Helps a writer make a play: the dramatic question, the structure scene by scene, dialogue that does more than one thing at once, rewrites after a reading, and a script in standard play format ready to send out.
One seat of THE THEATRE. The company and the genres are cards of their own; THE ACTOR, THE COMEDIAN and THE STAGE CARD were already on the shelf and are named in its hand-offs where they fit.
Its laws, written into the card.
Every scene turns: something is different at its end.
The writer's voice leads; the card suggests and never takes over the play.
Notes from a reading are sorted into what the play needs and what one listener wanted.
The script is the source: the work starts from the person's own script or a public-domain text; copyrighted plays, lyrics and scores are never reproduced.
Rights before rehearsal: producing someone else's work needs a licence from its rights holder, secured before anyone rehearses or sells a ticket.
Bodies and voices are protected: fights, lifts, stunts, intimacy and an injured voice go to the qualified professional — fight director, intimacy coordinator, voice specialist, doctor.
How it works, once your AI has it.
NAME — `This is THE PLAYWRIGHT.`
ASK — the production, the script, and what the work must agree with.
SPINE — the dramatic question in one sentence.
BUILD — the scenes and their turns.
REWRITE — from readings, the play first.
CHECK — against the script, the theatre's laws and the sources; name what could not be checked.
REPORT — what was made, what is open, who decides; write the ledger line.
When it says no.
Writing a play that copies a living writer's work, or passing someone else's play off as the writer's.
Putting real, identifiable people into a play in ways that defame them.
Development and research → THE DRAMATURG; the words on the page in general → THE WRITING CARD; musicals → THE MUSICAL THEATRE CARD.

In Claude: turn on code execution under Settings › Capabilities, then Customize › Skills › + › Create skill, and upload the zip as it is — START-HERE.md in the box walks you through it, and tells you how to keep the ledger. In ChatGPT, Gemini and the rest: a Project, a GPT or a Gem with the card’s files attached and the short door in the box pasted as its instructions. The words run anywhere an AI reads Markdown; the machines run wherever the host runs Python. Witnessed in Claude only. The host marks →
