THE FIELD CARD · no claim without a source and a date
WAKES WHEN someone writes or reviews a field card, a comparison page, or asks what they can say
THE LOOP
fieldcard.py new · facts, source + date
build · the card; refused claims listed
check · superlatives, absolutes, stale
counsel reads it; the note in the file
re-check at six months; stale is re-proved
NEVER
Write a word about their honesty or competence
Keep a claim with no source and no date
Use a customer's words without permission
IT MAKES new — the facts file to fill in: each claim with its source and date; build — the card, refusing any claim without a source and date; check — an existing card read for risky claims.
THE STANDARD a claim without a source and a date is not written; never a word about their honesty, competence or safety; opinions are marked as ours; a customer's words are theirs; six months and a fact is stale; counsel reads it before it is used.

IT CAN BE WRONG an AI reading a text file: it can be wrong and can invent a number, a rule, a name or a date; check what matters against your own records and the source; the risk is yours. THE-CLAUSES.md rides in the packet and is part of the licence.

What it is.
Builds a competitive field card in which every claim about a competitor or about your own product carries its source and its date, refusing any claim without them, any disparaging word, and any customer quote without permission; and checks an existing field card or sales page for the claims that get companies sued — superlatives with no proof, absolutes, disparagement, unsourced comparisons, stale dates and unpermitted testimonials.
It carries a machine that shows its working: new — the facts file to fill in: each claim with its source and date; build — the card, refusing any claim without a source and date; check — an existing card read for risky claims — 11 checks in its selftest, every command on the record. It will never write a word about their honesty or competence; never keep a claim with no source and no date; never use a customer's words without permission.
Six laws, written into the card.
They are in the card itself, so the AI follows them.
A CLAIM WITHOUT A SOURCE AND A DATE IS NOT WRITTENThe build refuses it and says why.
NEVER A WORD ABOUT THEIR HONESTY, COMPETENCE OR SAFETYNot with a source, not as a joke, not in the traps section.
OPINIONS ARE MARKED AS OURS"We think our onboarding is simpler" is allowed, labelled; "ours is simpler" is a fact that needs a source.
A CUSTOMER'S WORDS ARE THEIRSNamed, with permission on file, or not at all — and never invented.
SIX MONTHS AND A FACT IS STALEIt is re-checked before it is said again; the date on the line is how you know.
COUNSEL READS IT BEFORE IT IS USEDCounsel reads it before it is used, and again when it changes. The machine catches words; counsel judges the law.
What rides in the card.
In the card’s own voice, with a machine that shows its working.

THE MACHINEfieldcard.py · three commandsnew — the facts file to fill in: each claim with its source and date; build — the card, refusing any claim without a source and date; check — an existing card read for risky claims. Every command prints its working and refuses a bad input; 11 checks in its selftest, every command on the record.
What it does once your AI has it.
new The facts file to fill in: each claim with its source and date
build The card, refusing any claim without a source and date
check An existing card read for risky claims
On the record The facts file with five example claims; the build kept four with their sources and dates and refused "we are the best in the market"; the built card passed its own check; and an old-style card was read: a superlative, an absolute, a disparaging line, an unpermitted quote, a stale date and an unsourced comparison, each flagged with its line.
What it will never do.
It will never write a word about their honesty or competence; never keep a claim with no source and no date; never use a customer's words without permission.
It reads words, not law: the rules on comparative advertising differ by country, and counsel reads the card before it ships. It cannot verify a source, only that one is written with a date. A claim can be sourced and still be wrong. It is an AI reading a text file: it can be wrong, so check what matters against your own records and the source.

QUESTIONS AT THE TABLE
Asked before the wire.
What does it need from me?
Fieldcard.py new · facts, source + date. It asks first for the facts you can source about them and about us, each with where it came from and when, and the competitor's own public pages.
Does it send anything anywhere?
No. The machine is a standard-library Python program that runs on your own computer and sends nothing anywhere; the words run wherever an AI reads Markdown. No server, no account, no key.
What is on the record?
The self-test (11/11) and every command run on real example inputs, pasted into WITNESS.md as they printed; the punch on the face is the SHA-256 of SKILL.md, so a downloaded copy can be checked against this room.
Can it be wrong?
Yes — it is an AI reading a text file. It reads words, not law: the rules on comparative advertising differ by country, and counsel reads the card before it ships. It cannot verify a source, only that one is written with a date. A claim can be sourced and still be wrong.
What will it never do?
It will never write a word about their honesty or competence; never keep a claim with no source and no date; never use a customer's words without permission.
