THE DAILIES CARD — the LSC-1 face
THE CARD AS TEXT · FOR EYES AND FOR MACHINES

THE DAILIES CARD · a shot turned into stills and numbers

WAKES WHEN an animation was made and nobody watched it, or a walk looks like its feet slide

THE LOOP

  1. render the shot to numbered PNG frames
  2. contact and onion · the shot as stills
  3. track · the path and spacing, measured
  4. report · notes ranked, flashes first
  5. compare · before and after, same shot

NEVER

  • Pass a shot that flashes
  • Call motion smooth without the numbers
  • Judge a shot from its first frame alone

IT MAKES contact — the numbered contact sheet; onion — chosen frames in one still; track — the path and spacing, measured; report — notes ranked; exit 1 on FLASH RISK; compare — before and after, same shot.

THE STANDARD stills, not motion; no flashes; ranked by what shows; same shot, before and after; big enough to read; measured from the output.

CITE THIS CARDTHE DAILIES CARD, Edition 1. Lund Studio LLC, Westminster, Colorado. https://lundr.tech/?view=dailies-card. Punch 84B705B787D120EF67FDEA53. Retrieved 2026-10-12.

What it is.

A shot turned into things an AI can read, because an AI reads stills, not motion. contact tiles the frames into one numbered sheet, every tile 200 px or more; onion overlays chosen frames so the arc shows in one still; track measures the figure's centre, box and area frame by frame and draws the motion path; report writes plain notes ranked by how much they show (pops, frozen frames, volume swings, a sliding foot, off-model colours against a character spec, and flashes, which fail the shot); compare shows before and after on the same shot with every measure.

It carries a machine that shows its working: contact — the numbered contact sheet; onion — chosen frames in one still; track — the path and spacing, measured; report — notes ranked; exit 1 on FLASH RISK; compare — before and after, same shot — 13 checks in its selftest, every command on the record. It will never pass a shot that flashes; never call motion smooth without the numbers; never judge a shot from its first frame alone.

Six laws, written into the card.

They are in the card itself, so the AI follows them.

STILLS, NOT MOTIONEvery judgement comes from stills and numbers the card wrote, never from a guess about how it moves.
NO FLASHESMore than three flashes in any second is FLASH RISK, ranked first; the shot is not shown until it is fixed.
RANKED BY WHAT SHOWSNotes come in the order an audience would notice them, each with its frame numbers.
SAME SHOT, BEFORE AND AFTERA fix is shown on the same frames, with every measure beside the old one.
BIG ENOUGH TO READEvery tile is at least 200 px, on white.
MEASURED FROM THE OUTPUTSpacing is read from the frames, not from the plan.

What rides in the card.

In the card’s own voice, with a machine that shows its working.

THE GUIDEreferences/READING-DAILIES.md
THE MACHINEdailies.py · five commandscontact — the numbered contact sheet; onion — chosen frames in one still; track — the path and spacing, measured; report — notes ranked; exit 1 on FLASH RISK; compare — before and after, same shot. Every command prints its working and refuses a bad input; 13 checks in its selftest, every command on the record.

What it does once your AI has it.

  • contact The numbered contact sheet
  • onion Chosen frames in one still
  • track The path and spacing, measured
  • report Notes ranked; exit 1 on FLASH RISK
  • compare Before and after, same shot
  • On the record The contact sheet tiles all 16 frames; the report names the pop on frame 7 and the sliding foot; compare shows the fixed walk with 0 notes against 3. The strobe is FLASH RISK, ranked first, and the report exits 1.

What it will never do.

It will never pass a shot that flashes; never call motion smooth without the numbers; never judge a shot from its first frame alone.

It reads 8-bit RGB or RGBA PNG frames that someone rendered first; it does not render, play or decode video. Foot slide reads one colour touching one ground line; flashes are read from the whole frame's light, not from small areas or saturated red alone. The notes find faults; whether the acting works is a person's call. It is an AI reading a text file: it can be wrong, so check what matters against your own records and the source.

ON EVERY DOOR · A CARD FOR YOUR AI, A FILE FOR YOUR COMPUTER

In Claude: turn on code execution under Settings › Capabilities, then Customize › Skills › + › Create skill, and upload the zip as it is — START-HERE.md in the box walks you through it, and tells you how to keep the ledger. In ChatGPT, Gemini and the rest: a Project, a GPT or a Gem with the card’s files attached and the short door in the box pasted as its instructions. The words run anywhere an AI reads Markdown; the machines run wherever the host runs Python. Witnessed in Claude only. The host marks →

QUESTIONS AT THE TABLE

Asked before the wire.

What does it need from me?

Render the shot to numbered PNG frames. It asks first for the shot as a folder of numbered PNG frames, its frame rate, and if it is to be checked, the character spec, the foot colour and the ground line.

Does it send anything anywhere?

No. The machine is a standard-library Python program that runs on your own computer and sends nothing anywhere; the words run wherever an AI reads Markdown. No server, no account, no key.

What is on the record?

The self-test (13/13) and every command run on real example inputs, pasted into WITNESS.md as they printed; the punch on the face is the SHA-256 of SKILL.md, so a downloaded copy can be checked against this room.

Can it be wrong?

Yes — it is an AI reading a text file.

What will it never do?

It will never pass a shot that flashes; never call motion smooth without the numbers; never judge a shot from its first frame alone.
