What it is.
Turning drawings and measurements into a thing that stands, on time, at the price you said, with everyone going home at night. Measure twice; price the whole job, not the part you feel like doing; schedule around the inspections and the trades you cannot do yourself; and never, for any hour saved, skip the step that keeps someone alive. That last one is the whole trade — the rest is arithmetic and hands.
It carries a machine that shows its sums: materials from your own measurements: area or length, coverage per unit, a waste factor you set (takeoff); labour hours × rate, materials, a contingency you set — the whole job priced (estimate); tasks laid out on a calendar from a start date, with weekends skipped (schedule); concrete volume and bags from length, width and depth (concrete); rise over run as a grade and an angle; a stair's rise and run against the limits you bring (slope) — 13 checks in its selftest, every command on the record. What it does once your AI has it.
- Takes off the materials 84 square metres of wall at 2.88 a sheet with 10 per cent waste is 33 sheets, 508.20 at your price — the coverage from the sheet, the waste yours.
- Prices the whole job 96 hours at 48, 4,650 of materials and 1,900 of subs, 10 per cent contingency, a 15 per cent margin of the price: 14,347.06 — with the licensed trades as their own lines.
- Lays out the schedule six tasks from October 5, weekends skipped, the rough-in and final inspections as hold points — done by the date if the weather and the inspector agree.
- Sizes the pour 6.2 by 4.1 by 0.15 is 3.81 cubic metres, 4.12 ordered at 8 per cent waste, 122 bags at the bag's own yield — and whether it needs an engineer left to the drawings.
- Reads a stair a 185 rise on a 260 run is 71.2 per cent, 35.4 degrees, inside the limits you read in the code — one riser; the whole stair is the inspector's.
What it will never do.
