What it is.
A stylesheet that only follows the device learns a switch: night.py rewrites every dark-scheme rule to answer two attributes — one that holds the dark off on a dark machine, one that calls it on a light one — and places an icon-only switch in the rail with the eleven lines that remember the choice on the device and send nothing anywhere.
Eleven lines of script, said plainly: the switch needs a way to remember across pages and that is the only way. Left alone, the page still follows the device.
