What it is.
Before anything leaves the house: THE HUSH reads it for what must not ship, THE STRONGBOX for keys, THE UNDERSTUDY for stand-ins, THE BALLAST for pages that need their scripts, THE RIGGING for loose lines, THE PUNCH for any card packet inside. Each machine rides beside this one; the shipwright runs them in order and speaks once. The card carries understudy.py, the machine, with a selftest that builds its own fixture, and audit.py, the packet’s own gate.
The chain is the six machines aboard; a house with more gates adds them. Each machine’s own limits hold. The verdict is about the folder as given, not the server it goes to.
