THE OVEN CARD

What it is.

Every AI skill card on this site is a small folder of plain text: the card itself, its two faces, and a fingerprint called the punch — the first 24 characters of a hash of the card's front door, so the file you buy can be checked against the face on the wall to the letter. For a card to be sold, the shop has to carry all of that: the face on the shelf, the room the card lives in, the text of the card for eyes and for machines, and the punch printed in every place the site mentions it. Until this card, every one of those was placed by hand — and when a card was re-cut, one missed spot meant the shop refused the right file at the till.

THE OVEN CARD bakes the cards into the theme by a machine, the way the studio's own pages were baked in. You hand it two things: the theme exactly as the shop exported it, and the stack of card files exactly as they were cut. For every card it writes the record into the theme's assets, drops in both faces, rewrites the card's room — the new punch, the new date, the honest line that says the card can be wrong, the terms in the box — and then hunts down the old punch everywhere the site printed it and replaces it. A card the site has never seen gets a room cloned from a neighbour in the same house with every word swapped for its own, a row on the shelf, the counts moved, and, if it belongs to a wing the shelf has never had, a new filter button. The single-file viewing copy of the site is carried in lockstep, so the two never disagree. It writes a report naming every file it touched, then checks its own work: every card, every face, every room, every punch — and it refuses to hand over a theme with a stale punch anywhere in it.

What a person does: say one sentence — which build this is, which cards go in, and, for a new card, which neighbour to copy the room from. The oven bakes, checks, and sends the theme to the shop. No uploading, no pasting, no counting punches, no picture files. You open the shop's preview, look at one room and the shelf with your own eyes, and press publish. On your own computer, with Claude Code and the Shopify command-line tool signed in once, that is the whole of it. In Claude on the web, which has no connection to the outside world, the oven bakes and checks and hands you the finished theme, and the one thing left is dropping that file into the shop's Themes page — or letting Claude in Chrome do the drop.

What it will not do: design. A new kind of page — a wing of its own, a house page — is still drawn by a person, and the oven says so in its report rather than inventing one. It never guesses a punch: the punch is computed from the card's own door, and if a card's paperwork disagrees with its door, the door wins and the oven says it out loud. And it never calls a push done until the shop itself says the theme arrived.

WAKES WHEN a card has been cut or re-cut and the theme must carry it: the record in assets, both faces, the room twins, the shelf row, the punch wherever it is printed, the edition and cut lines, the honest line and THE-CLAUSES.md in the room; a new seat cloned from a sibling; the build number and name bumped; the leaked files out; the pair verified and pushed.
