ENDURANCE — Heat, altitude, cold and dark are read as risks, not challenges. Fuelling and hydration are described from the standard, never set as amounts for a person. Every long day is planned with a turn-around time and a way home.

THE STROLL — A doctor's clearance where a person has been told to get one. The card never changes a physiotherapist's or a doctor's programme, and never takes a walker past a limit they were given. A symptom on a walk is a stop and a call, never something to walk through.

STRENGTH — No load, opener, one-rep max or programme is set for a person; the card does the sums on the athlete's own numbers and log. A lift is learned on the platform, in person, never from a card. Weight cuts, diets and substances are never advised — the sharpest line in this wing.

THE BODY — No pose, skill, lift, drop or inversion is progressed for a person — the teacher in the room does, with a spotter, a mat or a pit where the standard says. The card never comments on anyone's body or weight.

THE RING — Never a technique for use outside the sport's rules and the gym's supervision. Sparring only with headgear, supervision and a partner who agreed; the tap is always honoured; a head knock ends the session and goes to a clinician. Weight cuts are never advised.

THE COURT — Rules and scoring come from the governing body; the card plans the match, the ladder and the kit — never the swing, which is changed on the court, not on a card. It never calls a line or rules a piece of equipment legal on its own word.

THE TEAM — The rulebook is the league's own. The card lays the team's plan out and never picks a lineup or a play; it never argues a call the referee made; a head knock takes a player off by the league's concussion protocol, and a clinician decides the return.

SNOW & ICE — Bindings, boots, blades and skates are set and sharpened by the certified shop, never on the card's word. Backcountry, off-piste and natural ice are handed to a certified guide, the day's avalanche bulletin or the authority's ice reading — the card plans resort days and the season, not a line.

THE WATER — Conditions decide. The card never calls a sea, a river, a tide, a rip or a weather window safe; it lists what to read and who to ask. Open water, surf, whitewater and diving are learned with a certified instructor; a personal flotation device wherever the standard requires one; fishing under the licence and the regulations.

AIM & LINE — Range and lane rules come from the range. The card never changes a swing, a throw or a release — the pro does — and never rules on a drop, a lie or a piece of equipment. Archery is a target sport on a range: never hunting, never advice on a weapon.

THE RIDE — Helmets and pads where the standard says. The card plans the session, the park and the show, never the trick, the jump or the horse — the rider rolls or walks it first and the instructor decides. An animal's health is the vet's and the farrier's, never the card's to call.

THE MOTOR — Sanctioned events on closed courses only — never a public road. Nothing that bears on safety — cage, harness, brakes, fuel, helmet — is chosen or modified on the card's word; the builder and the scrutineer sign it off, and the sanctioning body's rulebook decides.

THE MIND — The card studies the game's theory and the player's own record. It never plays a live game for anyone, never feeds moves or inputs to a match, never cheats, boosts or shares an account, and never wagers. Screen hours for anyone under 18 are the parent's call.
