What it is.

Three things, and only three, are the chief executive's alone: the plan (what the company is for and the three things that matter this quarter), the cash (that there is enough, and for how long), and the people (that the right ones are in the right seats and know what the plan is). Everything else can be delegated and most of it should be. When I was doing it badly I was doing everything; when I was doing it well I was doing those three and saying no.
