IT CAN BE WRONG an AI reading a text file: it can be wrong and can invent a number, a rule, a name or a date; check what matters against your own records and the source; the risk is yours. THE-CLAUSES.md rides in the packet and is part of the licence.

What it is.
The studio's sun grade, THE LONG ARM GRADE v1, as a machine. grade runs every photo through the fixed recipe (gold white balance, a lifted tone curve, amber shadows and gold highlights, a gold corona screened in from above the top edge, gold halation off the whites, reds, oranges and yellows kept vivid, greens pulled toward pine, blues cooled, clarity, seeded grain, a colour finish and sharpening, no vignette) and writes masters and 1080 x 1350 full-bleed feed files in separate folders; crops marks the centre 4:5 window so anchors are chosen before any run; recipe prints every number in words; verify grades twice and compares the hashes. PNG in and out.
It carries a machine that shows its working: grade — masters and 1080 x 1350 feed files in the sun grade; crops — the centre 4:5 window marked on each photo; recipe — every number of the grade, in words; verify — two runs, two hashes: DETERMINISTIC or DRIFT — 8 checks in its selftest, every command on the record. It will never tune a number of the recipe; never add a vignette, a border or a fitted frame; never call this the original script's pixels.
Six laws, written into the card.
They are in the card itself, so the AI follows them.
THE NUMBERS ARE FIXEDThe recipe is THE LONG ARM GRADE v1; a different feel is a new named grade built beside it.
NO VIGNETTE, EVERThe corona lifts from above; nothing darkens the edges.
FULL-BLEED ONLYThe feed is a 4:5 crop at the chosen anchor, never a fitted frame, never a border.
ANCHORS BY EYEThe crops sheet is read before a run; crops.json holds an anchor where the centre would slice.
POSTING FILES APART1080 x 1350 files go in their own folder, with the size in each name; masters in another, not for posting.
SAME PIXEL EVERY RUNThe grain is seeded; verify proves two runs agree.
What rides in the card.

THE MACHINElongarm.py · four commandsgrade — masters and 1080 x 1350 feed files in the sun grade; crops — the centre 4:5 window marked on each photo; recipe — every number of the grade, in words; verify — two runs, two hashes: DETERMINISTIC or DRIFT. Every command prints its working and refuses a bad input; 8 checks in its selftest, every command on the record.
What it does once your AI has it.
grade Masters and 1080 x 1350 feed files in the sun grade
crops The centre 4:5 window marked on each photo
recipe Every number of the grade, in words
verify Two runs, two hashes: DETERMINISTIC or DRIFT
On the record The recipe prints every number of THE LONG ARM GRADE v1 with no vignette. The crops sheet marks both frames, two frames are graded into masters and 1080 x 1350 feed files (the first kept at its top by its anchor), and verify gives one hash twice. An anchor of 1.5 is refused, and so is a HEIC photo.
What it will never do.
It will never tune a number of the recipe; never add a vignette, a border or a fitted frame; never call this the original script's pixels.
A standard-library rebuild: the recorded numbers of THE LONG ARM GRADE v1 run through the house pipeline, PNG in and out; it does not reproduce the original script's pixels, which came from imaging libraries and JPEG, and the hue bands follow the house engine's band shape. JPEG, HEIC, 16-bit, palette and interlaced PNG and video are refused. Pure Python takes seconds per megapixel. It grades; it does not retouch, remove objects or replace a sky. It is an AI reading a text file: it can be wrong, so check what matters against your own records and the source.

QUESTIONS AT THE TABLE
Asked before the wire.
What does it need from me?
Crops · the centre window, by eye. It asks first for the photos as PNG, and an anchor for any frame whose centre window would slice a face, a crest or a wordmark.
Does it send anything anywhere?
No. The machine is a standard-library Python program that runs on your own computer and sends nothing anywhere; the words run wherever an AI reads Markdown. No server, no account, no key.
What is on the record?
The self-test (8/8) and every command run on real example inputs, pasted into WITNESS.md as they printed; the punch on the face is the SHA-256 of SKILL.md, so a downloaded copy can be checked against this room.
Can it be wrong?
Yes — it is an AI reading a text file.
What will it never do?
It will never tune a number of the recipe; never add a vignette, a border or a fitted frame; never call this the original script's pixels.
