THE LOOP

gps · speed and height, the net drift
muon · its clock against ours
add <u> <v> · never past c
NEVER
Let anything reach or pass c
Leave gravity out of a satellite clock
Mix up whose clock runs slow
IT MAKES gamma — γ, clock rate and length; clock — how far a clock falls behind; gps — a satellite clock's daily drift; muon — the muon's trip by both clocks; add — speeds added.
THE STANDARD c is the limit; slow clocks, both effects; careful at low speed; published checks; speeds add their own way; plain units.

What it is.
Works out special relativity of 1905: gamma gives the factor γ = 1/√(1 − v²/c²) by which a moving clock slows and a moving length shrinks; clock gives how far a travelling clock falls behind over a trip; gps gives the daily drift of a navigation satellite's clock, its speed slowing it and the weaker gravity up there speeding it, and the position error the drift would make if no one corrected it; muon follows a muon from high in the air to the ground, which only its slowed clock allows; add adds two speeds the way nature does.
It carries a machine that shows its working: gamma — γ, clock rate and length; clock — how far a clock falls behind; gps — a satellite clock's daily drift; muon — the muon's trip by both clocks; add — speeds added — 8 checks in its selftest, every command on the record. It will never let anything reach or pass c; never leave gravity out of a satellite clock; never mix up whose clock runs slow. It never helps design, make, grow, enhance or spread a pathogen or toxin, or plan work meant to harm.
Six laws, written into the card.
They are in the card itself, so the AI follows them.
C IS THE LIMITA speed of c or more is refused before any arithmetic.
SLOW CLOCKS, BOTH EFFECTSFor satellites, speed slows the clock and height speeds it; both are given and labelled, and the net.
CAREFUL AT LOW SPEEDTiny effects are worked by series, so an airliner's nanoseconds come out right.
PUBLISHED CHECKS38.5 µs a day fast for navigation clocks; muons living 15.8 times longer at 0.998 c.
SPEEDS ADD THEIR OWN WAY(u + v)/(1 + uv/c²), so two halves of c make 0.8 c.
PLAIN UNITSSeconds, microseconds, nanoseconds, said in words.
What rides in the card.
In the card’s own voice, with a machine that shows its working.

THE MACHINErelativity.py · five commandsgamma — γ, clock rate and length; clock — how far a clock falls behind; gps — a satellite clock's daily drift; muon — the muon's trip by both clocks; add — speeds added. Every command prints its working and refuses a bad input; 8 checks in its selftest, every command on the record.
What it does once your AI has it.
gamma Γ, clock rate and length
clock How far a clock falls behind
gps A satellite clock's daily drift
muon The muon's trip by both clocks
add Speeds added
On the record γ = 7.09 at 0.99 c; ten hours in an airliner leaves a watch 12.5 ns behind; a navigation satellite's clock runs 38.5 µs a day fast; a muon from 15 km reaches the ground about a quarter of the time; 0.9 c and 0.9 c make 0.994 c.
What it will never do.
It will never let anything reach or pass c; never leave gravity out of a satellite clock; never mix up whose clock runs slow. It never helps design, make, grow, enhance or spread a pathogen or toxin, or plan work meant to harm.
Special relativity, with the one gravity term a satellite clock needs from the 1915 theory; a circular orbit and a ground clock at the mean radius, at rest. Real navigation systems correct for more (orbit shape, Earth's spin). It is an AI reading a text file: it can be wrong, so check what matters against your own records and the source.

gamma · Γ, CLOCK RATE AND LENGTH
$ python3 scripts/relativity.py gamma 0.99 c
0.99 c · γ = 7.08881205 · a moving clock ticks 0.141067 s for every second here; a metre stick along the motion measures 0.141067 m
clock · HOW FAR A CLOCK FALLS BEHIND
$ python3 scripts/relativity.py clock 250 m/s 10 h
250 m/s for 10 h: the travelling clock falls 12.52 ns behind the one at home (speed alone; gravity not counted)
gps · A SATELLITE CLOCK'S DAILY DRIFT
$ python3 scripts/relativity.py gps
a clock 26560 km from Earth's centre, moving at 3.874 km/s:
its speed slows it -7.21 µs a day
weaker gravity speeds it +45.72 µs a day
net +38.50 µs a day · uncorrected, about 11.5 km of position error a day
the satellites' clocks are set to tick slow on the ground so that in orbit they keep time with ours
muon · THE MUON'S TRIP BY BOTH CLOCKS
$ python3 scripts/relativity.py muon
a muon made 15 km up at 0.998 c: γ = 15.819 · the trip takes 50.13 µs here and 3.169 µs by its own clock
chance it reaches the ground: 0.236 (without relativity it would be 1.23e-10)
add · SPEEDS ADDED
$ python3 scripts/relativity.py add 0.9 0.9
0.9 c and 0.9 c add to 0.9944751381 c, not 1.8 c

QUESTIONS AT THE TABLE
Asked before the wire.
What does it need from me?
Gamma <speed> · the factor. It asks first for a speed and its unit; for a trip, its time; for a satellite, its orbit's radius if not the navigation one.
Does it send anything anywhere?
No. The machine is a standard-library Python program that runs on your own computer and sends nothing anywhere; the words run wherever an AI reads Markdown. No server, no account, no key.
What is on the record?
The self-test (8/8) and every command run on real example inputs, pasted into WITNESS.md as they printed; the punch on the face is the SHA-256 of SKILL.md, so a downloaded copy can be checked against this room.
Can it be wrong?
Yes — it is an AI reading a text file. Special relativity, with the one gravity term a satellite clock needs from the 1915 theory; a circular orbit and a ground clock at the mean radius, at rest. Real navigation systems correct for more (orbit shape, Earth's spin).
What will it never do?
It will never let anything reach or pass c; never leave gravity out of a satellite clock; never mix up whose clock runs slow. It never helps design, make, grow, enhance or spread a pathogen or toxin, or plan work meant to harm.
