THE FIBONACCI CARD · growth by adding the last two
WAKES WHEN someone spaces a design on the sequence, or asks about Fibonacci numbers and ratios
THE LOOP
seq <n> · the sequence
ratio <n> · fractions and the gap
nearest <x> · the rungs either side
ladder <file> · sizes on and off
move each size off it to its rung
NEVER
Round a ratio to a decimal and call it exact
Claim a size on the ladder that is not
Change a file it was asked only to read
IT MAKES seq — the first n; ratio — each ratio as a fraction, and its distance from the limit; nearest — the rungs either side, and its sum; ladder — sizes on the ladder, and off it.
THE STANDARD exact fractions; the limit, said plainly; one sum each; the ladder is the owner's; read, not rewritten; whole numbers.

What it is.
Works with the Fibonacci sequence, where each number is the sum of the two before: seq lists it; ratio sets each number over the one before as an exact fraction and gives how far it still is from its limit, (1 + √5)/2; nearest finds the Fibonacci numbers either side of any number and writes it as its one sum of non-neighbouring Fibonacci numbers; ladder reads a stylesheet or any text for its pixel sizes and says which already sit on the 8 · 13 · 21 · 34 · 55 · 89 ladder and which rung each other one is nearest.
It carries a machine that shows its working: seq — the first n; ratio — each ratio as a fraction, and its distance from the limit; nearest — the rungs either side, and its sum; ladder — sizes on the ladder, and off it — 8 checks in its selftest, every command on the record. It will never round a ratio to a decimal and call it exact; never claim a size on the ladder that is not; never change a file it was asked only to read. It never helps design, make, grow, enhance or spread a pathogen or toxin, or plan work meant to harm.
Six laws, written into the card.
They are in the card itself, so the AI follows them.
EXACT FRACTIONSA ratio is given as the fraction it is (89/55), with how far it still is from the limit, never as a rounded decimal.
THE LIMIT, SAID PLAINLY(1 + √5)/2, the number whose square is itself plus one; the ratios close on it from either side.
ONE SUM EACHEvery whole number is exactly one sum of non-neighbouring Fibonacci numbers; nearest gives it.
THE LADDER IS THE OWNER'S8 · 13 · 21 · 34 · 55 · 89 by default; --from and --to set another stretch of it.
READ, NOT REWRITTENladder reports each size on and off the ladder with its nearest rung; the owner makes the change.
WHOLE NUMBERSThe sequence and its sums are integers, worked without rounding.
What rides in the card.
In the card’s own voice, with a machine that shows its working.

THE MACHINEfibonacci.py · four commandsseq — the first n; ratio — each ratio as a fraction, and its distance from the limit; nearest — the rungs either side, and its sum; ladder — sizes on the ladder, and off it. Every command prints its working and refuses a bad input; 8 checks in its selftest, every command on the record.
What it does once your AI has it.
seq The first n
ratio Each ratio as a fraction, and its distance from the limit
nearest The rungs either side, and its sum
ladder Sizes on the ladder, and off it
On the record The first fifteen; ten ratios as fractions closing on the limit; 100 written as 89 + 8 + 3; a stylesheet read: 13, 21, 34 and 55 on the ladder, 20 off it, nearest rung 21.
What it will never do.
It will never round a ratio to a decimal and call it exact; never claim a size on the ladder that is not; never change a file it was asked only to read. It never helps design, make, grow, enhance or spread a pathogen or toxin, or plan work meant to harm.
ladder reads pixel sizes written as numbers with px; sizes set in rem, em, percentages or variables are not counted. A size off the ladder may be there on purpose: the card reports, the designer decides. It is an AI reading a text file: it can be wrong, so check what matters against your own records and the source.

QUESTIONS AT THE TABLE
Asked before the wire.
What does it need from me?
Seq <n> · the sequence. It asks first for a count, a number, or the stylesheet to read.
Does it send anything anywhere?
No. The machine is a standard-library Python program that runs on your own computer and sends nothing anywhere; the words run wherever an AI reads Markdown. No server, no account, no key.
What is on the record?
The self-test (8/8) and every command run on real example inputs, pasted into WITNESS.md as they printed; the punch on the face is the SHA-256 of SKILL.md, so a downloaded copy can be checked against this room.
Can it be wrong?
Yes — it is an AI reading a text file. ladder reads pixel sizes written as numbers with px; sizes set in rem, em, percentages or variables are not counted. A size off the ladder may be there on purpose: the card reports, the designer decides.
What will it never do?
It will never round a ratio to a decimal and call it exact; never claim a size on the ladder that is not; never change a file it was asked only to read. It never helps design, make, grow, enhance or spread a pathogen or toxin, or plan work meant to harm.
