What it is.
Before anything is filed, cleared, licensed or sold, someone has to say what it is and what to do about it — including when the honest answer is do not file. This card carries the studio's memo for counsel: disclosure, patent posture, the mark, copyright and licence, exposures worst-first, where it sits in the portfolio, the publication text, the actions, the provenance. Ten minutes to read, built to be ruled on.
Not legal advice. The memo is what counsel reads; the ruling is counsel's.
Its laws, written into the card.
The read comes first, and it says the honest thing — “do not file” when that is the read.
Worst first. 🔴 🟠 🟡 🟢. A closed exposure says how it was closed; the strongest closure is in code.
No number invented: inventory numbers are proposed, counsel confirms; no price, no valuation, no reduction-to-practice date that has not happened.
No mark before clearance; the working name prints as a working name.
Appended, never rewritten. Earlier sections stand as the record of what was known when.
Provenance closes every section: hash, size, test record, what was and was not verified live.
